Auburn University Native Bee Lab M.S. Graduate Assistantship 2027 Overview

The Auburn University Native Bee Lab, housed within the Auburn University Bee Center, is offering a funded Master of Science (M.S.) Graduate Assistantship starting in January 2027. Funded by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), the research project focuses on pollinator conservation and habitat restoration. The graduate assistant will evaluate roadside vegetation management practices—such as selective herbicide applications and restoration techniques—to assess their effects on wildflower establishment, plant composition, and native bee communities in the southeastern United States.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Entomology, Botany, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Work Authorization: Must meet all eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment.

• Desired Qualifications: Prior experience in native pollinator research, specifically plant and native bee identification. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a collaborative work ethic.
