UK Government Chevening Scholarship 2027/2028 Overview
The Chevening Scholarship is the UK Government’s flagship global scholarship program, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations. The award enables outstanding emerging leaders from across the globe to pursue a one-year, fully funded Master’s degree in any subject at any accredited university in the United Kingdom, fostering future decision-makers and global networks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Target Audience: Open to citizens of Chevening-eligible countries worldwide.
- Academic Background: Must hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for entry into a UK postgraduate course.
- Work Experience: Minimum of two years (2,000 hours) of professional work experience (including full-time, part-time, voluntary, or paid internships).
- Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated leadership potential, strong networking ability, and clear career ambitions.
- Return Obligation: Must commit to returning to your home country for a minimum of two (2) years following the completion of your scholarship.

Required Documentation
- Official academic transcripts and degree certificates
- Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing professional work history
- Three (3) university Master's course choices in the UK
- Four (4) mandatory Chevening essay responses (Leadership, Networking, Studying in the UK, Career Plan)
- Two (2) professional or academic reference letters
- Valid passport / government identification
How to Apply
- Access the official Chevening application portal (

- Complete the online application form and draft your four required narrative essays.
- Upload all supporting credentials and submit your application prior to the annual early-November deadline.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person interview at the British Embassy or High Commission in their home country.
